At ITI, we help organizations unlock the full value of their data. We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data & AI Consulting team and play a key role in designing and implementing modern, high-performance data solutions for our clients. 

In this role, you’ll work directly with clients to understand their business needs and technical environment, and architect the right data solutions to support their goals. You’ll collaborate with our internal team and technology partners to design, build, and evolve the data services and offerings that power our customers’ analytics and AI capabilities. 

Your work will focus on building secure, scalable, and reliable cloud-based data platforms—primarily on Microsoft Synapse, Fabric, and Azure Databricks—that not only drive insights today but also enable the next generation of AI workloads.

Your role at ITI

You will be responsible for:

• Work directly with clients to translate business challenges into scalable data engineering solutions, defining scope, approach, and technical architecture; 
• Guide clients through their analytics roadmap, from defining their vision and estimating feasibility and cost to supporting adoption of modern data platforms; 
• Contribute to architectural decisions, tool selection, and overall data platform strategy; 
• Architect, implement, and optimize data lakehouse/data warehouse solutions; 
• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and integrations using Synapse, Fabric, and/or Databricks; 
• Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL, PySpark, and Python code for ETL/ELT processes; 
• Implement and automate CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient deployment and version control across environments; 
• Implement best practices in data governance, data quality, and security; 
• Collaborate with BI developers (Power BI) and data scientists to deliver business-ready datasets; 
• Design, build, and evolve the data services and offerings that power our customers’ analytics and AI capabilities, enabling AI workloads through robust data foundations; 
• Explore and integrating new technologies and analytical tools to continuously improve delivery and innovation; 
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and consultants; 
• Create clear and comprehensive documentation to support maintainability and knowledge sharing across projects.

What we’re looking for

Profile

• 5–10 years of experience in data engineering and analytics, including experience designing and implementing analytical solutions; 
• Advanced SQL expertise and proven experience with Microsoft Fabric, Synapse and/or Azure Databricks; 
• Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data transformation and automation; 
• Strong understanding of Azure data services, including Data Lake Storage, Data Factory (or Fabric Data Pipelines), Purview, and Synapse Dedicated/Spark pools; 
• Solid grasp of data security, compliance, and access management within Azure environments; 
• Experience with CI/CD and version control (Azure DevOps, Git); 
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience); 
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (or equivalent) is an asset; 
• Fluency in spoken and written French. An advanced level of English is required to communicate with English-speaking customers.
