Entrusting your IT management to one or more external specialists allows you to focus on your core mission and lighten the load on your in-house teams, allowing them to fully concentrate on strategic initiatives.
By deciding to outsource their IT services, whether partially or fully, companies are generally seeking to resolve several key challenges to improve efficiency, security and competitiveness.
Outsourcing IT management and services can enable them to lower costs by sidestepping major investments in expensive technologies and hiring additional specialized staff. In fact, most instances service providers like ITI offer solutions at a fixed price, facilitating budgeting and cost predictability. They can also provide ultra-specialized expertise in various domains, notably cybersecurity, enabling businesses to take advantage of advanced competencies without having to develop them in-house.
Outsourcing versus managed services
Outsourcing and managed services represent two distinct approaches to farming out IT services. Outsourcing consists of subcontracting specific functions, such as managing applications or technical assistance, to an external provider while maintaining the overall responsibility of the IT strategy. Outsourcing is often used for specific projects or tasks with defined agreements and measurable expected outcomes. It offers flexibility for short-term projects but can lack adaptability for evolving needs. Outsourcing is generally based on a flat-rate or hourly fee for specific services.
On the other hand, managed services like those provided by ITI involve an ongoing partnership in which the provider takes charge of daily management, monitoring, maintenance, and incident management, while working closely with the company on their global strategy. Managed services providers (MSPs) adopt a proactive and continuous approach via real-time system and user management to prevent problems before they occur.
In this model, the MSP becomes an extension of the company’s IT team, with the managed services based on a subscription model with fixed payments for ongoing services that are reviewed and adjusted continuously. This approach provides greater flexibility to address technological changes and the company’s growing needs.
In summary:
- Outsourcing contracts out specific functions with flat-rate or hourly fees.
- Managed services involve an ongoing partnership with proactive management and fixed payments.
Advantages of managed services
When it comes to managed services, the most impactful aspect for users is remote assistance. This method allows you to considerably reduce your response times while guaranteeing continuous, uninterrupted service.
Centralized proactive maintenance prevents interruptions, improves infrastructure and ensures stability across the network. The service centre also takes charge of managing notifications, monitoring backups, and using hardware and software resources via specialized tools. Additionally, these services regularly check the status of the infrastructure to optimize overall performance.
Managing IT services also provides simplified and optimized asset management, facilitating licence and warranty tracking. Companies also benefit from predictable costs thanks to a monthly subscription model and economies of scale.
In short, there are many advantages to using external IT services:
- Specialized technical expertise
- Continual system updates
- Proactive monitoring to prevent problems
- Enhanced security and compliance
- Easy modulation of IT services based on the business’ changing needs, providing valuable flexibility

ITI methodology
We begin the management process with an optimization phase to improve the existing systems. This step includes installing a probe to collect necessary information about the complete infrastructure. The results of the audit will feature detailed information about the process, infrastructure and network, performance, security, productivity, and collaboration. As well, the software and hardware assets will be validated to ensure their compliance. Once this data is collected, we’ll provide recommendations to guide further actions.
Based on the audit’s results, we’ll develop a proposal that includes an initial upgrade. This may require configuration adjustments, enhanced security, improved performance, and implementing new processes. At this stage, we’ll also determine the terms and levels of service for each client.
Once the new configurations are integrated, the activation is launched, and we inform the users while also ensuring the new processes align with the company’s needs.
In short:
- An optimization phase for the existing systems, featuring an audit and recommendations.
- A proposal, including an initial upgrade and the integration of the new configurations.
